Tablas Creek Vineyard Cotes de Tablas Blanc 2005
The 2005 Côtes de Tablas Blanc is Tablas Creek's fourth national release of its Viognier-based white blend, made in a rich and aromatic style, yet with a clean minerality in the mouth, bright acidity, and a long finish. Like our Côtes de Tablas red, this wine is designed to be ready to drink young: at its peak from the moment of its release. Wine Advocate The introductory white is the Cote de Tablas Blanc. The 2005, a blend of 42% Viognier, 33% Roussanne, 19% Marsanne, and the rest white Grenache, offers up aromas of honeyed grapefruit, orange rind, tropical fruits, and lemon zest along with a hint of crushed rocks. Medium to full-bodied with surprising dryness as well as intensity, it should be consumed over the next 2-3 years. Score: 90. —Robert Parker, August 2007.Wine Enthusiast This is Côtes-du-Rhône, California style. A blend of Grenache, Mourvedre, Syrah and Counoise, it’s a dry, rich, full-bodied red wine, flooded with easy-to-drink cherry, blackberry, blueberry and oak flavors, and a wealth of Provençal rosemary, lavender and thyme. Drink now for its soft, youthful purity. Score: 88. —Steve Heimoff, December 31, 2007. All sizes are 750mL unless otherwise noted. |
