Dense dark crimson-red hue with dark fruits of black currant, blackberry and brandied cherries. Hints of earth/forest floor, layered with cocoa powder and roasted coffee. Layers of licorice, brown sugar and ginger root show the classic flavor profile of our Estate Cabernets. The palate is full bodied yet sweet and elegant. The tannins are fine and granular in texture yet carry the candied fruit to a chalky finish.
Wine Spectator
Shows earthy, dusty cedar, black cherry, currant, herb and sage. Well-structured and tight, this is supported by firm tannins, gaining complexity and nuance on the finish, where it picks up a minty edge. Decant. Best from 2009 through 2018. 248 cases made.
