Besserat de Bellefon Cuvée des Moines Brut Rosé
E-mail this item from Daryl Wine ShopBesserat de Bellefon Cuvée des Moines Brut Rosé The colour is a soft pink with orange and salmon highlights. Fine froth forming a creamy ring in the glass. The nose is intense and clean with notes of slightly candied small red fruit, especially wild strawberry. It carries suggestions of almond and red currant jelly. Good weight on the palate. Attack is slightly acid, then red fruit are back to the fore with black and red currants. Mouth is fleshy, fresh and tender. Definitely balanced with very silky texture. The finish is lively, not aggressive, with persistent length. A delicately soft rosé. Wine Spectator A balanced, attractive mix of spice scents and berry flavors in this elegant, creamy rosé. Softens up on the finish, fading gracefully. Drink now. 1,000 cases imported. Score: 89. —Bruce Sanderson, December 31, 2006.Wine Enthusiast Light copper in hue, with earthy aromas that veer toward mushroom. Flavors of peach and pepper are solid, if pedestrian, while the finish is smooth and long. Goes heavy on the Pinot Noir, with lots of dry toastiness to seal the deal. Score: 87. —Michael Schachner, December 15, 2003. All sizes are 750mL unless otherwise noted. |
